On April 17, 2018, Keidanren USA hosted a roundtable with Mr. Thomas B. Schreibel, Ms. Anne C. Canfield and Ms. Sarah C. Helton from Michael Best Strategies. Mr. Schreibel and Ms. Canfield briefed on President Trump’s various trade issues including steel and aluminum tariffs, followed by a discussion among participating member companies.
Roundtable with Former Acting Deputy USTR Wendy Cutler
On April 11, Keidanren USA hosted a roundtable with former Acting Deputy USTR Wendy Cutler who is a senior policy consultant to Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Ms. Culter briefed on the Section 301 tariffs against China, followed by a discussion among participating member companies regarding impact and concerns.

On January 17, Keidanren USA hosted Mr. Nicholas Szechenyi, Deputy Director of the Japan Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and Professor Fumiaki Kubo, Project Leader at Keidanren’s 21st Century Public Policy Institute. We discussed the Trump administration’s policy priorities for 2018 and the prospects for U.S.-Japan relations.

On October 19, Keidanren USA welcomed Mrs. Julie Chung, Director of Office of Japanese Affairs, Bureau of East Asian & Pacific Affairs at United States Department of State to our office.
