On June 5, 2024, Keidanren USA hosted a roundtable discussion with experts from CSIS on China-Taiwan cross-strait relations.
Mr. Jude Blanchette, CSIS Freeman Chair in China Studies, and Mr. Chris Johnstone, CSIS Senior Advisor and Japan Chair, discussed current dynamics in cross-strait relations and the implications for Japan, following the inauguration of President Lai Ching-te on May 20, 2024. They also shared the results of recent work on the economic and financial implications of a cross-strait crisis.
