On March 18, Keidanren USA hosted Professor Shujiro Urata of Waseda University’s Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies.  Professor Urata was joined by Associate Professor Arata Kuno and Dr. Hideyuki Miura of Kyorin University’s Faculty of Social Sciences.  Professor Urata gave a detailed presentation on TPP’s impact on Japan’s economic recovery.  Professor Kuno spoke of Japan’s domestic policies in the wake of the TPP agreement, and Dr. Miura explained Japan’s ratification process and outlook.  The discussion with members focused on such issues as increasing the benefits of TPP, agricultural reform and potential TPP expansion.
