On July 13, Keidanren USA hosted Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) Chairman Kazuyuki Sugimoto for a roundtable event with member company DC representatives.  Chairman Sugimoto was visiting Washington DC for bilateral meetings with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice.  Chairman Sugimoto gave an overview of the international development and reach of competition law, and compliance efforts among Japanese companies.  In the Q&A discussion that followed, member companies engaged on such issues as competition issues in trade, leniency programs, and competition in the digital economy.
