On November 30, as our inaugural seminar event, Keidanren USA hosted a policy roundtable discussion with Professor Kent Calder, Director of the Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. Professor Calder discussed how the evolving nature of the nation’s capital has made a presence in Washington crucial to ensuring a voice in policy decisions and having one’s message heard. A robust discussion with Japanese company representatives followed regarding how Japan, and Japanese businesses in particular, can better engage in the U.S. upon the reopening of Keidanren USA.
