On April 27, Keidanren USA hosted a policy roundtable discussion with Mr. Kurt Tong, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs at the Department of State.  Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Tong discussed issues and priorities for the U.S.-Japan relationship within the broader framework of the administration’s East Asia policies, and also touched on Japan’s place in the global economy and what the U.S. and the world looks to Japan for.  Keidanren member companies commented on issues such as innovation in Japan, education and foreign direct investment to Japan.
