On September 16, Keidanren USA hosted Professor Katsuichi Uchida, President of the U.S.-Japan Research Institute (USJI) and Vice President of Waseda University, to coincide with his visit to Washington DC for USJI Week.  Professor Uchida gave a presentation on “University Strategies in a Global Era.”  The Q&A session saw discussion of such topics as the differences among Japanese universities (public and private, etc.), the need to develop globally competitive talent, and the challenges facing regional universities.
